Persian carpets slow down traffic

The idea that a different colour and/or texture of the road would slow down cars was demonstrated today when Jo of Japs Carpets laid Persian carpets out on the road - as they do in Persia, she said. Car speed was noticeably reduced and pedestrians were able to cross the road more easily.

  1. What a way to slow down traffic: a bold statement by JAPS, Jo's Antique Persians, to claim the streets back! Great idea to make Kalk Bay car-free on weekends ~ take Boyes Drive if you're driving through (best views!); take the train (most fun!) if Kalk Bay is your destination. You will love the Fan Walk along the Main Road to the end of the pier and you will enjoy the train ride home.

  2. oh please give us back the quaint happy little cobbled village KALK BAY once was! Everything has changed and many hearts are sad. Greed has replaced the unique vibrancy and spontaniety that once drew the crowds.
